Bongo Wiki
A smart newsroom, built for the generation that has to make sense of everything.
Bongo Wiki is media-tech, not traditional media. AI, machine learning and automation turn the news into bite-sized stories made for the phone in your hand, and human editors check every one. I founded it, and it is built by a newsroom and operations team in Bangladesh.

The problem
More information. Less understanding.
The internet gives a young person in Bangladesh more information than any generation before. It does not give them more understanding. That gap is what Bongo Wiki is built to close.
Noise
Feeds reward what spreads, not what matters. An important story competes with everything else for the same few seconds of attention.
Missing context
A headline arrives without the background that explains it. People react to the news without knowing what it means for them.
Borrowed relevance
Global stories rarely explain the local stakes. Local stories rarely get told in a form that fits the phone a young reader is holding.
Fragile trust
When anything can be faked, people start doubting what is real. Accuracy is no longer a feature. It is the product.
What and why
News that explains, for readers who were never the target audience.
In one sentence
Bongo Wiki is a youth-focused digital news and storytelling platform for Bangladesh.
In plain language
Bongo Wiki takes the stories shaping Bangladesh and the world, in technology, business, youth, culture and sports, and turns them into bite-sized stories a young reader will actually finish. Software does the heavy lifting. People check the facts. Short where it can be, long where it has to be, accurate either way.
Who it is for
Young Bangladeshis who read on their phones and want to understand the news, not just scroll past it. Students, early-career professionals, and anyone who has felt that the news assumes too much and explains too little.
“Young Bangladeshis deserve news that fits the way they read: fast, visual and built for a phone screen.”
Formats today
Short news
The day's stories in a few paragraphs, written for a phone screen and a short attention window.

Inside the newsroom
Not a traditional newsroom. A smart one.
- Platform
Built, not borrowed
Its own Next.js publishing platform and image CDN, made for fast, visual, phone-first reading instead of a template CMS.
bongowiki.com(opens in a new tab) - AI
AI does the legwork
AI tools research, organise and summarise the background, so every story starts with context instead of a blank page.
How a story gets made - Machine learning
More signal, less noise
Machine learning helps the newsroom work through far more information than a team could read alone, and surface what matters.
- Automation
An automated newsroom
The repetitive steps between a finished story and a reader run automatically, so a small team can publish at the pace the news moves.
- Format
Bite-sized by design
Short news, visual explainers and curated picks, sized for a phone screen and a short attention window. Long-form only when a story earns it.
- Judgment
People make the call
Human editors verify, fact-check and answer for everything that runs. Speed never comes at the cost of accuracy.

Built in, not bolted on
The website, four newsletters, six social channels and a campus ambassador network, planned together with the journalism.

How a story gets made
Technology does the heavy lifting. People make the call.
- 1
Spot
Stories come from the newsroom, from readers, and from campus ambassadors who send in tips and campus news leads.
- 2
Research
AI and machine learning help gather, sort and summarise background, so people spend their time on judgment instead of admin.
- 3
Verify
Human editors and fact-checking before anything is published. Speed never comes at the cost of accuracy.
- 4
Shape
Bite-sized for the phone: short news, visual explainers, or long-form editorial when a story needs the space.
- 5
Distribute
Automated publishing to the website, four newsletters and 6 social channels, so the story meets readers where they already are.
What comes next
From a smart newsroom to a media-tech platform.
- Ambition
A fully smart newsroom
Automating more of the pipeline, from monitoring and research to formatting and distribution, so editors spend their time on judgment.
- Ambition
Personal, bite-sized briefings
Stories shaped around what each reader follows, in the format and length they actually finish.
- Ambition
Learning, not only reading
Turning the strongest explainers into structured, personalised paths on technology, business, money and civic life.
- Ambition
Rooted in Bangladesh, built to travel
A youth-first media-tech model that can serve a wider South Asian audience, and a Bangladeshi perspective the world rarely hears.
